This page explains how PianoTunerNow uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit the site. We use the bare minimum and we do not sell your data.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files saved on your device by the browser. They are used to make the site work, to remember your choices and, if you consent, to understand how the site is used so we can improve it.
The cookies we use
Technical (always on). Required for the site to work: login session (authentication with Supabase), security and the interface language preference (ptn_lang). Without these the site cannot function, so they do not require consent.
In detail, the cookies the site sets:

Preferences stored on your device. Besides cookies, the browser keeps on your device a few preferences and reminders that are never sent to us: the light or dark theme, the dismissal of the install-app notice, the compact view of some lists, drafts not yet sent and, in the Shop, the shops whose code you have already marked this month, so that we do not ask you again, and those whose website you have opened, to highlight âI used the codeâ when you come back. This last reminder clears itself when you close the tab or the app. You can clear them from your browser settings.
Marketing. At present we do not use advertising profiling cookies or third-party cookies for marketing purposes.
Third-party services
Some providers may set their own technical cookies when you use the features that involve them: Supabase (sign-in and database, EU); Stripe (payment pages only); OpenFreeMap (maps); YouTube in no-cookie mode and Vimeo (presentation videos in profiles, loaded only when you play them); your browserâs notification services, if you enable notifications. Supabase processes data as our processor; Stripe as our processor for payments and as an independent controller for fraud prevention; OpenFreeMap, YouTube, Vimeo and the notification services as independent controllers, under their own policies (Privacy Policy, section 5). We use no traffic analytics tools and no advertising cookies.
Cloudflare Turnstile is a check against automated programs on the sign-in, sign-up and password recovery pages: it reads the IP address and some browser data and may use a technical item of its own. It is a technical security tool and does not require consent. Cloudflare processes it as our processor, and as an independent controller only to improve its own detection of automated programs (Privacy notice, section 5).
How to manage cookies
Today PianoTunerNow uses only essential technical cookies, which require no consent: that is why the first-visit banner is a notice and not a choice. If we ever introduce optional cookies, the banner will become a real choice - you will be able to accept or refuse them - and we will install none before you consent. You can in any case delete or block cookies from your browser settings; some features may then stop working.
Updates
We may update this policy if the cookies we use change. The date at the top indicates the latest revision.
